A Pain in the Neck?

Just a quick note re a couple of testimonies that were shared at last night's outpouring meeting.

Tom (who has only recently come to faith in Jesus) shared how he had had a pain in his neck for some time - nothing seemed to shift and it was really irritating. Since putting his faith in Jesus he began to pray about his neck. Now his neck is healed - the pain has gone.

He also shared that his neice was suffering form a bad case of chickenpox (one of the worst the doctors had seen). Tom prayed and soon afterwards, the little girl's condition improved significantly.

Alex has been suffering with tinnitis - a ringing in the ears - for several years. After prayer on Sunday, one of the noises has stopped. He is trusting that God will continue the healing process until his hearing is fully restored.

Disappearing Verucas!

On Thursday (July 24th) at the Outpouring meeting there was a word of knowledge about someone having a problem with their arm. I have had a problem with pain in this area for some months, so responded to this, asking God to heal me. I could feel a heat in my arm, but I also I became aware of my left foot feeling different.

For more than 3 years I have had 5 large verucas in the ball of my foot, the largest being the size of the end of a Bic pen! It is like having a stone in your shoe most of the time.

I have visited the Doctor at least twice for treatment, bought countless creams and 'freezing' treatments, even taken vitamins that other people said had made their verucas disappear. Theirs did go, mine just got bigger, so I stopped taking those.

In the end I gave up trying things, and for the last 6-9 months have resorted to cutting or shaving back the skin and veruca regularly to reduce the size of the lump on my foot.

As I worshipped God, I became aware that I could not feel the usual lump and looked to see why. 2 of the smaller verucas had gone and the others reduced to almost nothing! By the time I got home, you had to search to find a 'pin prick' trace.

God is amazing! It may not be a life threatening condition, but for literally years now, it has been a constant source of discomfort, and will make a real difference to me to be free of them. Thank you God.

Another healing from "Outpouring"

Last Thursday at the Outpouring meeting, someone shared a word of knowledge - they called out that they could feel a pain in their head just behind their left ear; somehow the pain stretched down the side of the face and into the neck.

I wasn't aware that anyone had responded to this word, so I thought nothing more of it... until the next morning when my daughter came in complaining that she had a pain behind her ear; then she traced her finger across her cheek and down into her neck to indicate where it hurt - exactly as had been described the night before in the meeting. I immediately remembered the word that had been shared and we prayed for the pain to go away. There was a significant improvement through the day and within another 24 hours the pain had completely gone - praise God!

Fill the House

Just a quick note to say that we recently launched Fill the House - a CD of worship songs written and performed by people connected with Highdown. The launch night (July 18) was well attended and the first performance was very well received.

Overwhelmed by God!

I've been a Christian most of my life, and I've been to tonnes of events where the Holy Spirit has been moving and people have fallen to the floor, or burst into laughter, or spoken in tongues etc. As much I have seen that many times, I've never been 'floored' by God before. I've have deep encounters with God, and I've spoken and sung in tongues, but I've never had anything physical happen to me.

This Thursday (10th July) I was at our outpouring meeting and was playing in the worship team. At the end, the leader felt that the Holy spirit was moving in a new powerful way, and that it was almost going to be violent. I put down my guitar and went out into the congregation where people were been prayed for. Someone came and prayed for me and I can only describe what happened as like being hit by a bus! One second I was standing there, the next second I had hit the deck like a tonne of bricks. I didn't have any say in the matter - God just knocked me flat.

I felt a power on me that was so heavy, I could barely move - even when I was on the floor!
As I say, I've seen all this stuff before loads of times, but it's never happened to me. At times I got slightly cynical of it, and wondered why people collapsed to the floor. That night, having been whalloped by an immense power that literally knocked me off my feet, I have no doubt that God's spirit moves in that way. I'm still buzzing now!

More testimonies

We had a holiday recently with my brother and his wife. My brother has had so many illnesses. He has had two hernia operations, another one recently when a lump came up which was a pocket of poison. He has had prostate cancer. He also has angina and has a blockage between his heart and his lungs.

While we were away he was very breathless and if he went into the pool he had a tightness in his chest which was a bit worrying. On our return he was to go for another test because they said he needed yet another operation on his bladder.

While were having a prayer time for various situations in both of their lives they were asking God for more of him in their lives. We prayed for them and they both fell back on the sofa full of laughter. This was something they really needed because of the problems they are facing at the moment, it was a release from all the stress.

While we were praying for them God said, “Don’t forget about healing, pray for the Spirit of Infirmity to come out in the name of Jesus”. He felt a burning in his chest between his heart and lungs and after that he did not get the pain in his chest when he went into the pool and was walking much better without the breathlessness.

When he went for the test at the hospital the following week they said he did not need an operation everything was fine!!!

Volcanic eruption

On Thursday night God took me to an even deeper place with him, it seems that each time we meet his glory and presence is increasing. At times I felt His joy and at times I felt very emotional. While laying on the floor in His presence I felt such a great love and tenderness from the Lord. I felt he was saying the light of his glory shone into every corner of my heart, even the secret places which no-one else knew about. I felt he was saying he knew the secret longings of my heart, my desire for more of Him and for more of His presence in my life. I felt he was saying he knew the tears and prayers I had brought before him. He knew the people I prayed for and the things I wanted to see happen in their lives. He cared about them, they were like treasures to him, He wanted me to bring them to Him, to bring them out into the light of His presence. He would bring them to pass, but what was so emotional was His love and tenderness and that He cared about them in fact more that I did.

Later while being prayed for my hands which are sometimes very painful with arthritis, I suddenly started laughing it came from deep within One of the leaders put his hand on my head and prayed for a volcanic eruption and the laughter increased so much, it came out of my innermost being like living water. I can’t explain what happened but it’s as if as the joy flowed out God filled me up more and more. Today I can feel His presence deep within me and feel quite emotional at the knowledge of His great love for me which I can physically feel and experience. God is so good.

Update from Thursday's Outpouring (July 1st)

Gordon shares…

On Thursday I was praying for God to move in me - telling Him, ‘I’m here and I’m available’. I was asking God to use me… To use me anyway he wanted. Although I could speak in the language of the Spirit a little before, on Thursday there was a real release and I was free to speak out like I've never done before. I was prayed for and told there was ‘oil’ all over me. As I lifted my hands I could feel a heat all over me and was totally boiling - on fire all over!

Sarah shares…

Before Thursday’s meeting had even started I had an expectation that I wanted to meet with God. Driving home from work I simply prayed “I really want to worship you tonight that I would honour you and meet with you”, & he didn’t disappoint!

While we were worshipping through the first part of the meeting I felt a real ‘heaviness’ (not in a bad sense), but it was like the weight of God pushing me into the ground. Later as we were singing ‘more love, more power’ I could feel the presence of God again through my body.

As I was prayed for, it was amazing to hear God’s heart for me. I am so thankful to God for all he has done.

Tom shares…

When I arrived on Thursday I found that I was struggling to worship God. During the meeting I felt an overwhelming experience where I think nobody was standing and everyone was sitting or laying on the floor in the presence of God. As the worship began I felt my arms lifted and began to worship as I had never done before. This was confirmed when Dan spoke and said that there is someone struggling with their worshipping who has now been set free. I was also prayed for to be baptised in the holy spirit and started to speak in tongues which became extremely overwhelming. an amazing experience of God!

A Night to remember

On Thursday June 19th the presence of God was ‘heavy’ in a wonderful way! We shared on how there are times when your healing or miracle comes because you take the imitative with God and reach out expecting God to change you. Many people were powerfully impacted by God –unable to move as the anointing continued to weigh down on them.

This is what Simon experienced: "Don't really know what happened to me last night, but I had a very heavy sense of the Holy Spirit, and a time of prayer and intercession on the floor that could not have been interrupted. You know when you try and pray and your mind can wonder and it's hard work to stay on track? Well last night, it was like I was plugged in and there was only one channel with no interference!"

One of the great thrills of the evening was that Tom asked for prayer and on experiencing the power and reality of God invited God to be his forgiver and leader. It is wonderful to see God at work in his life. A very real change has taken place instantly, and he is looking forward to his new life.

This Thursday we’re holding another OUTPOURING event in the school. It’s going to be an evening where there will be an outpouring of worship which will result in an outpouring of God's presence… & as God’s presence becomes tangible his power can be released & we are believing that God will actually release miracles among us & with those that we are connected.

If you have a friend who needs a miracle, they need to be healed, or liberated from some issue–please bring them along. If you have friends who are hungry to meet with God bring them along too.

Father's Day - Sunday June 15th

Anointing oil! As we were praying before the start of the celebration Dorian could feel the presence of God. This is his account of waht happened.

"I could feel him anointing me & the immediate impact was that Oil started to manifest on my hands. As I was playing the keyboards my hands were sliding over the keys because of the oil. I 'laid hands' on everyone I could before the meeting and after my hands touched theirs—their hands also started manifesting the oil. Ian who was part of the worship team that morning was really impacted with God overwhelming him that morning. Ian shared with me that the oil on his hands was still there on the Tuesday!"

Healed! When the invitation to receive an impartation of this outpouring Graham's hand shot up. Gods power flowed through him in such a way that Graham wasn't even able to remain standing. But when he got up he discovered that the pain from a back problem that he had for some time was totally gone. God had healed him! Graham immediately came forward to share what God had done and honour Him.

Healed by text!

Healed by God to be more accurate! Have just received the following testimony from Simon:

On Friday evening, I had a text from my Mum who lives in Spain, saying amongst other things, that she was in a lot of pain with her bad knee. (This knee was injured a few years back and really needs an operation to sort it out.)

I told her (all by text), that following my trip to Florida, I had seen people who had received healing on the other end of a cell phone, so why not let me ask God to heal her by text!

This was a step of faith in more ways than one, as I had not heard of text healing yet!

I told her to put her phone on her knee and receive her healing.

Her reply said 'You must have been very blessed in Florida'

I became impatient and said, 'never mind that, put your phone on your knee and receive your healing in Jesus name'

Her reply was, 'That's why I said you must have been blessed, I did put my phone on my knee and all the pain completely disappeared, Praise God'

As a foot note, mum has started watching the revival broadcasts on God TV, and is now kneeling, (something she couldn't do before), in front of the TV and claiming her miracle!

More testimonies...

On Sunday (June 8th) we met again to honour God - for who he is and what he has done and indeed is doing amongst us at this time. Here are some more testimonies from people who have been touched and healed by God.

Helen shared how God had healed her headache in response to a word of knowledge that was shared in the meeting - see Outpouring posting.

John has had problems with his foot/ankle making it difficult and painful to walk. In the meeting he testified that God was healing him and that the pain was gone.

Dan came forward to say that he had been concerned about his knees and hips which had been causing him pain - possibly as a result of playing football when he was younger. Although he had not had a formal diagnosis, he had spoken with some medical professionals in his family who had suggested he may have been suffering from some form of arthritis. In the Outpouring meeting, Dan felt God touching his joints and since then the pain has gone.

Simon also told of how his mum received healing for a bad knee via text - will publish full details tomorrow.

As we continued in worship, God continued to move amongst us. There was a strong sense that the Lord was drawing those who had turned away from him back to himself.

In addition, Andrew testified that God had healed his knee:

"I used to have problems going up stairs", he said. "My left knee was painful when I put weight on it - so much so that I used to go upstairs one step at a time - always leading with my right leg. I didn't feel anything in my knee as such, but I knew that God was doing something. I felt that I had been healed." Just to prove the point, he brought a chair to the front of the meeting and stood on it with his left leg - something he was unable to do without pain previously.

We thank and honour God for all he is doing; it is truly wonderful - he deserves all the credit.

Outpouring

Our first "outpouring" took place last Thursday (June 5th). We had a wonderful time honouring God together. There was a word of knowledge about someone who had a severe headache that God wanted to heal. Helen testified that she had been suffering with a headache for most of the day, but in the meeting during the worship time, the pressure had lifted and by the time she got home, her head had cleared completely.

Since that night there have been other testimonies of healing - including a lady in Spain who had a knee problem and received her healing via text! Will post full details later. Watch this space...

Fill the House

This year we have been looking at "Filling the House". We come together to honour God, to focus on him above everything else - to fill the house with praise and worship. We long to see God filling the house with his presence - a greater revelation of his power and glory including the release of miracles and healing; that others would see how great God is and that the house would be filled with people discovering how wonderful Jesus is and putting their trust in him.

Last Sunday (June 1st 2008) we had a foretaste of what is to come. We met with the desire to simply honour God. As the worship continued there was a growing awareness of the presence of God. Several people testified that they could hear angelic voices and instruments that were not being played by the band.

In the meeting, Clare - a teacher in a special school who had been suffering severe pain in her foot (a problem which originated when she broke her foot as a child) - was healed. In the previous few days it had become increasingly painful to the point that she could barely put any weight on it. In the meeting she reached out to God and determined that she was going to focus on worshiping him. Since then she has had no pain - she can walk and even run (she's training for a half-marathon - Go Clare!) "What God has done is truly amazing" said Clare (pictured left).

In the meeting there was also a word of knowledge about a person who needed to use gel for a medical complaint because God was going to heal them. Someone came forward to receive prayer for their daughter who was not at the meeting. Watch this space for further news.

Taste and see...

At the end of May, three leaders from our church went to Lakeleand in Florida to see for themselves what God is doing. Dorian, Simon and John had an amazing experience of the presence of God in their meetings and have been greatly impacted by what happened.

On the Friday night there was an opportunity to be prayed for - that God would impart this outpouring that is currently taking place in Florida that it might be carried around the world - even to here in Worthing.

At the end of a long day of travelling, they felt nothing when Todd Bentley prayed for them. Instead they simply believed that they would receive from God. Since then they have known that God has done something in them and they are hungry for more of him and to share what they have received with anyone who wants it. As a result we have started midweek meetings in Palatine School - "Outpouring" - a time of praise, presence and power. We seek to honour God, believing that he will meet with us and that people will be healed and set free.

Healing Revival breaks out in Lakeland Florida

We have been amazed at the stories of what God is doing in Lakeland Florida. Night after night thousands gather to worship and honour God. As they do so, something of the glory of God is revealed. Under the leadership of Todd Bentley, many thousands of people have encountered God like never before - lives that will never be the same again. Many testify to miraculous healing - blind eyes are opened, the deaf can hear, the lame can walk. There have even been a number of resurrections from the dead.
